There is no shop here, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to pay for. What follows is what you can expect from this site, and the little it asks of you.

What this site is

A record of small crocheted animals and where they have got to. Christine makes them and gives them away; the site gives each one a page that outlives whoever is holding it. Nothing is for sale, and nothing here is an offer to sell.

An account, if you want one

You can read all of it without one. An account exists so you can do the things that are yours: claim a PLIPPET that has reached you, name it, add a moment to its journey, or hand it on.

You sign in with a link sent to your email address, so use one you can actually receive mail at — it is the way back into your account, and the way you are told a submission has been read.

What you add

A name, a biography, a caption, a photograph. Three things are true of all of them.

Somebody reads it before anybody else does. Nothing you submit appears until it has been reviewed. If yours is turned down you are told, and told why. A decision that turns out to be wrong can be reversed, and the record of who decided what is kept.

It stays yours. By adding it you are letting this site show it on that PLIPPET's page, in either language, for as long as the page exists. That is all — it is not given away for anything else.

Add only what is yours to add. Your own words and your own photographs, and nothing that names or shows somebody who has not agreed to it.

Handing one on

The object goes to somebody else and the page carries on. What you wrote stays on the part of the story that was yours — that is what a shared record is, and it is why handing one on does not take you out of it.

Closing your account is a different thing, and Privacy says exactly what it removes.

What can be taken down

A submission can be turned down, and something already published can be taken down again — including later, and including by mistake, which is why a decision can be reversed rather than only made.

An account can be closed from this end if it is used to harass somebody, or to publish what this site will not carry.

What this site does not promise

It is one person making things and one site showing them. Pages change, a feature may go away, and there is no guarantee it is reachable at any particular moment. None of it is a service you have paid for.
